Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine took a decree ¹ 279 on May 12, 2007 "The creation of the Central State Electronic Archives of Ukraine and the Central State Archives of Foreign Ucrainica".

Participation in the implementation of public policies in the archives and paperwork, coordination of state authorities, local governments, enterprises, institutions and organizations regardless of ownership on the questions of the using of electronic document and electronic signature, storing and using information of electronic documents.
Gathering of electronic documents and electronic information resources, their accounting and permanent storage.
Examination of the value of electronic information resources in order to introduce them to the NAF (The National Archival Fund) or removal from it.
Providing methodical assistance to the state archives, government authorities, local governments, enterprises, institutions and organizations regardless of ownership.
Realization of researching and methodical work on creating, keeping, storage, use of archival electronic documents and electronic information resources, introduction of electronic documents, electronic signature, information and communication technologies.
